Bed Rug wear?
Just wondering if anyone with a Bed Rug has removed it and found wear spots/rust/friction marks etc...
I'm currently tossing up between a bed rug and a spray in liner and the bed wear issue is one of my concerns.

You should see the HD velcro used on the BedRugs. I would bet that it won't be moving...
I sprayed my bed with a rubberized coating prior to installing the bedrug. Additional cost was $20.00. Well worth it in the long run.

what kind of coating did you use? Is it removable?
For that matter is the bed rug velcro removable? I like the rug for the fact that it is soft and you can take it out when it comes time to get a new truck (and the bed looks "as good as new". I like the liners for the fact that they are a permanent upgrade that is almost indestructable, so they still look good.

It's just adhesive velcro. You'll be able to remove it when the time comes.
I'm not taking the undercoating off. I'll be buried in the bed, so it's a non-issue for me...
Wouldn't it be nice to do a spray-in liner and put a BedRug over it.
When you sell, take the BedRug. Bed is brand new... Just a thought.

Liner choice is speedliner. They strip the whole bed down to metal then apply 1/4" of liner with kevlar for anti-rip.
I think I'll go bed-rug to start. If the bed starts to wear at all, I'll get a speedliner underneeath the bedrug.
Thanks all!

Coldie, I put a Bedrug in my 99 when new. After 1 1/2 years I took it out when I traded my truck in. There was NO damage done to the paint in the bed. I left the velcro fasteners in the bed so that the next owner could figure it out. The Bedrug is in my 01 and it looks brand new. And no, I don't work for Bedrug.
