Cool How many board members does it take....

Something I saw on the Turbo Buick message board...i slightly modded for this board.

Q: How many list/board members does it take to change a spark plug?

A: 1,455:

1 to change the spark plug and to post that the sparkplug has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing spark plugs and how the spark plug could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing spark plugs.

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing spark plugs.

53 to flame the spell checkers.

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

6 to argue over whether it's "sparkplug" or "spark plug" and another 6 to condemn those 6 as ****-retentive.

156 to write to the administrator about the spark plug discussion and its inappropriateness.

109 to post that the list/forum is not about spark plugs and to please take the discussion to sparkplug flamelist-l/personal mail.

203 to demand cross posting about changing spark plugs be stopped/it is good debate for the board.

111 to defend the posting saying that we all use spark plugs and therefore the posts *are* relevant.

306 to debate which method of changing spark plugs is superior, where to buy the best spark plugs, what brand of spark plugs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty.

41 to point out that not all of us use spark plugs, representing diesel owners.

58 to question why diesel owners are on a non-diesel list/forum.

3 to comment about conversions to electric.

27 to post URLs where one can see examples of different spark plugs.

14 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and to post the corrected URLs.

3 to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to the list/board which therefore makes spark plugs relevant to the list/board.

33 to link all posts to date, then quote them including all headers and footers and then add "me too"

12 to post that they are unsubscribing because they cannot handle the spark plug controversy.

19 to quote the "me too's" to say "me three".

4 to suggest that posters request the spark plug FAQ.

44 to ask what is "FAQ".

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago dealing with oil filters?".

143 to ask "what's an oil filter?".

And finally...10 to say "you must be a redneck because you are putting spark plugs in a pick-up. Real men drive audi's"

sorry just had to.

LOL! I posted this on another board (non-automotive) and someone noted that the author forgot the 12 people trying to get a group buy together on spark plugs! LMAO! And my egotistical a$$ thought group buys were just a Lightning board specialty....

Don't forget the one to point out that your math dosen't add up. You said the answer was 1445, but you list 1449. Plus my post to correct your math. That brings the grand total to 1450. LOL

147 posts on what color the new plugs should be.

I think we need a group buy on calculators.

I can't beleive someone took the time to add that up!!

I just grabbed it from another board and added the audi jab(and increased the # by ten)....I think I will have to go back and add the group buy thing now....that was great!

Think these are missing:

26 posts on correct gap to use
11 to say that gap doesn't work with NOS
9 asking what the correct torque is for plugs
14 saying to use a plug socket with a rubber insert
19 saying that the rubber insert isn't needed and only causes problems
