Question LED bulbs in 2001 tail-lights?

Has anyone put LED bulbs in there 2001 lightening tail/ brake lights? If so were they much brighter? I am planning on getting them for my new SCREW and was wondering if the LED's would be a waste of money. Thanks.

The 2001 doesn't come with LEDs for the main brake lights...

I don't believe they'll end up brighter. They will on the other hand light up quicker. Saving you from the 0.3 seconds or so that it takes a regular light to light, hopefully saving you from getting rear-ended.

Due to the design I've seen of most LED replacement tail lights, they will be brighter from directly behind the truck, but dimmer from the side. I did see where a company is making a set that have a couple of LED's pionting to the sides to make the side view brighter.

I put them in my old Tahoe and they made it blink really fast. they do come on and go out instantly but the fast blinking was anoying. I don't know if electonic flasher would fix that or not. Do they take 3057,3157? I have the ones I bought for my Tahoe.
