It Runs Again!!!!!!!
Worked all week end to get the Lightning back together, plus did a few mods the Heads and to the cooling system to help on the long wot runs that I do and also made a set of underdrive pulleys to help free up some hp.Have not driven it yet but will Monday.

lightning 2 strikes@hotmail.com here . where do you run at the strip? what did you put under drive pulleys on and how much underdrive. did you adjust the fuel pressure for more boost. i am running 5% oin the blower..

I dont run at the strip I open road race trying to break into the 170 range now was close at Big Bend and was at 167 on the GPS in Partice there so I know I can do it.
As for as what I underdrove that is,the water pump 1 to 1 ratio now,Alt and P/S. Tha factory is close to 1.5 to 1 ratio work great for slow driving and no RPMs but when you are at 4800 to 5500 for 30 mins the water is moving to fast for good heat transfer.

Ruslow, I cannot remember if I asked you if your suspension was modified. How does it feel beyond 150?

The Host hotel is Sams' Town now for the future events, but I will not be running in the May event because of the problem that I had since I have not tried the truck out on the track and won't be able to [no open track events] before the SilverState,I won't run because of the chance that something might go wrong,ie.,bolt not tight enough oil leak something along that nature. When I test it at an open track afterwards I nut and bolt it to make sure EVERYTHING is right. After all at 150 thing happen real fast and to develope an oil leak might not hurt me so bad but the guy behind me it could be fatal!
As to what happened I tuliped 5 of the intake valves, the way it happened was the boost on the back side plus the chamber psi on the other side just sunk the valves into the head.If you saw how thin they are you would wonder way it does not happen more often.Stan
If I feel a vibration I DON'T run I FIND out what is causing it!!!!!!!!!!!

Just finished the test drive after getting the truck back to gether. And let me say wooooo, big difference in low end torque and top end power. You can not leave the stop lite without leaving atleast 5 feet of rubber unless you just rest your foot on the throttle.A/C still cools good and did not get over half guage on temp,so I would say that my mods worked out great. Now all I need is a good open road event to really see what it will do.
