I use Mothers Mag polish as well. Works real good but I clean mine after every drive.

Speedracer29- The truck runs very rich with the factory calibration. A chip will greatly reduce the soot buildup on the pipes.

Nothing,I repeat NOTHING,can clean my exhaust tips. Not Mothers, not Never Dull, nothing! I have at least 7 different products in my garage just collecting dust. I have used mild sand papers, brillo pads, and every product to come down the pike and I can't get them clean. I'm not even talking about the inside of the tips(JET BLACK!),just the outsides. What has worked "best" has been "Zap it",that stuff from that infomercial. Picked it up at Wal-mart and it gets them close to looking good, but not THAT close.

i have news for you guys. i had most of the high performance cars in the sixties. i had a 67 coronet with a hemi, then a 68 gtx 440, then a 70 roadrunner with a 440 six pack. then on to a 70 vette, with a 454, 390 horse. then a 58 vette, and a 64 vette, with air. i can tell you guys that none of those cars were all that great. yes they are nice to look at , and yes they were fast, but none of them , handled, rode or just plain felt anywhere near as good as the lightning does. the lightning stops better, most of the cars back then just had drum brakes. the lightning handles way better, most of them were just good in a straight line. finally the car is way better made, no rattles and it doesnt nickle and dime you to death like the old cars used to do. when i see them selling for such ridiculous prices today i just laugh.</font>
What you say may be true, however at least when a '70, '69 anything "clunks" no one looks and laughs at you like they do at your NEW L. They're 30+ yrs old they are supposed to have problems, these things are 2 or less and they have some serious problems! Like what you ask? Well how about a brand new engine ingesting brand new coolant. I don't ever remember Ed Pink telling me that is how he breaks in his funny car engines. Ford has found a better way..........THRU OUR WALLETS!

The old classics sell for such high prices because you can't go down to the dealer and buy one like you can a lightning or any other high-performance vehicle. Someday a very nice L will go for alot more than the purchase price, rest assured.
