How do you get wax off of plastic bedrail covers
Waxed the truck the other day in my garage and thought I was doing a good job keeping the wax off of the bedrails and mirrors until the next day when I saw it in the sun. There is white wax in spots and I have tried soap and a toothbrush etc, but it is still there. The soap and a toothbrush helped but it is still noticable in the direct sunlight. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, 700 miles on it and already two cracked fog lights. It has not even been in the rain and I have only had them on for about 1 hour.
Try Bon-Ami non abrasive cleanser with a toothbrush . I just use toothpaste and toothbrush .

My wife makes fun of me when I mask off all the grained plastic parts before waxing, but unless you have tried to get the wax off a person would not understand.
When I did mess up the only thing I found that seemed to help was a product called 303 Protectant. It doesn't really remove the wax, just hides it and requires additional coats as the wax reappears. As time goes on it seems to get worse without doing something. Using 303 Protectant also enhances the looks and contains a UV protectorant. If you haven't heard of it you can find it on the internet at :

Just use any alklid dishwashing soap, like dawn, it will cut right through the wax and remove it completly.
You can also use this to strip the entire car in preperation for a rewax.

Was told by the distributer of Cherry Wet Wax that Windex works great to remove wax.He said that the amonia in it removes wax on contact.I am sure any glass cleaner will work fine.
I just use Simple Green to get it off.

window cleaner, simple green, dish soap...they will all work....just about anything that you wouldent want to get on your paint would probably work, but then again you probably wouldent want to get some of those on your rails either!!!
