Post Weight Reduction 101....part 2

Everyone,

I have had a couple more days to do some testing and verified the weight of some more items:

Stock Pulley (On Cage) 11 lbs
Trailer Hitch assembly 47 lbs
Factory jack (Under passenger seat) 7 lbs

I figure I can cut out 150 lbs between some simple remove (Not the pro-sport) and using 16" wheels......

Should help the old times tomarrow......

Side Note: After taking the factory pulley off and seeing/feeling its weight, I think its obvious why it has the support cage. I have never seen a pulley on any auto applications I've dealt with weight this much. If you let the raw 11 lbs hang on the end of the crank, for sure you would have problems.

How much does the stock battery weigh? A Optima battery weighs 38 lbs. Also if you drain the widshield washer fluid you can loose 6-7 lbs. The winshield wipers don't weigh much but would make the truck a little more aerodynamic if you removed them.

Also If tou put a electric fan on you would loose about 10lbs of rotating weight. That alone will reduce your et's

How about removing the passenger seat, that must be good for another 100lbs.

I just took the pass seat out and I don't think it's 100lbs. Felt like 50 or 60lbs, which still helps.

Question

Howdy!

TallyWacker,

If you removed the girlfriend, then what's the use for the truck. I gotta use mine.. since I have no bed..

Have a climactic day.
