That's an uncharacteristically unscientific comment, Denis. Numbers are the only way to measure something, and there is no indication that Automobile magazine had an agenda.

And to rebut (?) the data, you offer your anecdotal recollection of some other study, where the results were the same? Just what is your point? Are you agreeing or disagreeing with the data?

Alright girls lets not get into a throw down, Den, apologize to Tim for insulting numbers, and Tim apologize to Den for saying the Canadian Sesame Street is not as funny as the American Sesame Street.

Sad, Carry on sir, and post some more pictures for cripes sake.

Susp. work looks great.....IMO bagging (not to mention wheels/paint work/stereo/etc, etc) a lightning is better than bagging a regular old F150....whats wrong with starting with something great instead of starting with a boring work truck that needs $5,000 put into it just to look good....the L is just a badass sport truck for any enthusiast, whether 1/4 mile is your thing or getting low...or both

Youre straying away from what the engineers designed the lightning to do, but who cares....with a regular F150 your straying even further.....lol

Thanks for the pics

Thanks for the comments. I still want to go fast. Just because I may add some weight and run a 22" wheel/tire combo doesnt mean I don't like to mash the pedal. I will still go to the track every summer and make passes. I have been going and modifying the truck for speed ever since I bought it in 03. I have all the bolt ons and Im waiting (like many of you) to receive and install my cog setup. Im sure down the road I will just get even crazier with a built motor and maybe even a better power adder than the eaton. I like going fast and looking good. As you said, not only is the L fast, sounds better, and easier to modify than a reg f-150, it looks way better. The interior is a better, too. I expected to get grief by most Lightning purists, but I gotta tell ya, the guys in the custom truck seen are spoodgin' at the sheer thought that Im going all out and baggin' an L. Thanks for the support guys and expect more pics soon. It supposed to be done this week

Sadf, not trying to bash you about ur bag setup that ur going to do, its gonna look badazz! it seems that most of us have different views on how our lightnings should look and perform.
The comment I made about buying a regular f-150 and bagging it with 22 inch wheels and tires is true, I was looking for a "sleeper" performance truck that could blow off benz's and bmw's and they would have no idea what hit them! Simply said If i wanted big rims and air bags, I would of not bought a lightning thats my opinion though!

Isn't it kinda weird that engineers at Ford and Dodge went two totally different ways with a "high performance" oriented truck, SRT-10 has 22's and a V-10 Viper motor, and we (lightnings) have 18's and a supercharged V8.

I hate to break it to ya, but a Lightning is not a sleeper! It has a body kit, agressive front fascia, and side exhaust. Its begging for a street race by every riced out Boss F-150 around and its not going to be many true performance Mercedes and Bimmers without mods, I know cause I drive a late model S series every day and all my sibling drive "performance" Mercedes vehicles. I don't care what I drive, its got to look good too. The new Saleen Mustangs and KR Shelby's come with 20's for a reason and thats on a car where the Lightning is a bigger vehicle with even more wheel gap and smaller wheel. I will admit, for the first time in my life I have come to accept smaller wheels and factory wheels more so than in the past. I am also more interested in older muscle cars and the factory look is nice when power is a focus. I may have a car focused solely on power and not care about looks one day, but today is not that day I have been in the Lightning seen four a while now and am glad to know that I get acceptance by you some of the veterans regardless on what my taste is. The truck does 13.2 with the 22's and slammed so its not **** slow. With the cog setup, which is transfering my current 5 psi setup (2.95 Reichard upper, JLP 5 psi lower, and auxilary idlers) to a 6 psi (total of 16 psi) setup should help out and I will probably go with a built motor and different power adder in the future. It will be slammed, cogged, big rims, and fast...
