I cant say about the F1's, but I like to launch around 1800 rpm with 17 lbs. of air in my slicks..

I would recommend upgrading that R9 to a stronger, more current program. IMO

Lightbulb

Unfortunately the Lightning is NOT a good bracket race vehicle. To be a good bracket race vehicle it needs to be able to run the same time, time after time after time, reguardless of temp changes. On an average day into nite racing schedule here the temp can easily change as much as 25 degrees. Unfortunately, mostly because of the blower, and partly because of the electronics the Lightning will run faster as it cools and slower as it warms. It will run one time when IT is cold and another time when IT is hot.

My observations of watching and participating in bracket racing every weekend for the last year in half are this. Get an old chevelle or a camero, put a 350 in it with a single 4-bbl, and a th400 automatic and it will run the same dial time after time after time for any given day and if the temp does drop the change will not be as dramatic as it is in the L.

The lightning is a great vehicle, but it is NOT a great bracket vehicle.

Bolt of Light,

Forgive me please but having visited and pickled myself on more than one occasion with San Miguel and MOJO, et.al. , where in the HELL in the PI do they have a drag strip? Clark Air Farce base in Manila? I bet you scare the flip flops off jeepney/taxi drivers carving corners headed to the barrio(s).

The HALO guys can be of great reference here as their elevation and summer climate is very similar to that of the Philippines.

Personally, I run my F-1's at 26 to 28 psi, light burnout/scrub, launch at 1200 RPM and moderate the right foot based on the grip (or lack thereof) of the facility at hand. Let it cool down for over an hour between runs if at all possible.

Also, jot down ANY changes you've done to your truck on a sheet of paper and include it with your chip when sending it across the pond (ie: plugs, breather cap, octane you run, etc) as this allows the tuner to adjust parameters.

One more thing, for better Reaction times (although irrelevant) HIT IT as soon as you see the last yellow....

Good luck!

I put my F1 to 22 ps and launched at 1,300 had a great run I think for a first timer on braket racing type. But got to work on my reaction time thanks

All you guys thanks so much for the info. If you have more please keep on sending any help you give is greatly appreciated and used to

Thumbs up

Reaction time is critical in a bracket race, but the 60' time will tell you how the truck is launching. Anything under a 2.0 second 60' time is considered good when using the stock F1 tires, and anything under a 1.9 would be considered great.
Good Luck
Dale
