The JLDiablo chip has a firm but not harsh shift. however we do sell a Diablo line valve mod which will firm up the shifts even more for those who like it firmer. it sells for 80.00.....JL

My 1-2 shift clutch pack is wiped out.It takes longer to shift now than it ever did stock and now I have a chip!!!My dealer wont fix it so I gotta blow it right up!!!in order to get it fixed.DONT IT MAKE ME MAD when you need to destroy something to get something simple fixed under warranty or you get
"Cannot duplicate problem"
"Cannot duplicate problem"
see to me its not firm, its like a soft 1-2. i was thinking it was suppouse to be harder.
red mine dosent shift like it will its like sluggish. i thought thats what it would be like.
i wanna say it was the latest superchip by jl.
Im new to this so i dont know, thats why im askin. the 2-3 is hard, so i figured the 1-2 is.

That's how mine is, Nightmare. My 2-3 bangs like all get out, but my 1-2 is soft. Everything feels like it just kind of "glides into place." It's still better than stock, but is by no means neck snapping.

My Superchips R9 Shifted harder then stock going into 1-2, hard enough to break the tires loose. The 2-3 was just as firm. I think that alone helped my 1/4 mile times. Stock the truck had a real sulggish shift at 2-3. I am currently in the process of getting the JDM 90mm air intake kit and a reburn onto my Superchip. I should have it by the end of next week. I'll post what I find out.

I'm surprised nobody saw my posts about this. My 1-2 is mushy and the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts knock my kidneys out. 1-2 used to be the firmest shift until I goofed the tranny by spinning over rough road just as it was doing the 1-2 shift. It hasn't been right since with or without chip.
Hey LQ, I bet you CAN'T tear it up because you're trying to. Those kind last for 500k miles.

Evidently most of you did not read this post:

Ford put that power reduction during the 1-2 shift in there for a reason. The stock clutches will not stand up to the abuse of repeated full throttle, full power shifting. When you first put in a chip the shifts should be much firmer than stock, but eventually you will kill the clutch pack and they will go soft. Maybe you can get the dealer to fix it under warrantee, but you will just get the oem parts, and if you keep the chip in you will blow the new one up, too. I don't know how you propose to "destroy" your tranny, LQ, and I don't know why you think Ford should replace when you have purposely abused it. Even if they do you are going to blow it up again. I do not wish to return to the wimpy stock shifting, so I am having my tranny and torque converter rebuilt to withstand the stress of full power shifting. Its just part of the price of modifying these trucks to make them go fast.

Mine is neck snapping all the way to 3rd and will break the tires loose at least through second, possibly third . It's nice for me since I'm used to it but I still keep a neck brace in the glove box for my passengers

aint it the truth,Now that I want it to ,It probally wont blow up til 36,001
And as far as i am concerned alphadoggy,These trucks are not supposed to go through intercoolers faster than tires either but they do!
We have to put up with alot of ***** with these trucks even in stock form.If I can SCREW ford a little bit here and ther,I feel i should to make up for the rest.

Alpha,
With all due respect to your opinion, my truck shifted HARD on the 1-2 in STOCK form. It was almost as if my truck had a factory-installed shift kit. Still acts that way without a chip on all other gears. But 1-2, much to my dismay, is gone. That one launch over rough terrain as it shifted 1-2 has messed it up. I hate it because I think I had a really good one.
Well, maybe you're correct also. I wouldn't think what I did in stock form should mess it up. Maybe the clutch packs just can't take what a "good" stock engine can dish out. Mine is one of the potent ones in stock form that could run a 13.72 1/4. It could easily burn rubber without powerbraking from day one. My buddy's could not.
