Post An oxymoron, who has the shortest lowering kit?

Whom of you out there has the shortest lowering kit?

If you have a 3/4 then I'm looking in the other direction!

I'm thinking about getting a 1/2 kit, but the supplier can't deliver shocks for about 8 months.

So I'm looking for your ideas here if the shocks only meet this criteria.

If you've gone down this road then can you also post manufacture, ride quality, and price?

Thanks,

And don't post anything about Audi's here! I'm not even sure if it's safe to ask this shock question?

Eric:

I'm not sure that a 1/2 kit would require shocks....

There's alot of people running 3/4 without changing the shocks. I'm only changing mine to BellTech nitros 'cause I like to pi$$ money away...

You can get the 2" drop from shackles alone. Most don't change the shocks for that much of a drop.

Front would require new 2" drop reg. F150 springs.

BellTech makes the best suspension stuff, IMO.

If anyone else has anything else to add, please do.

Rich

Eric, my good man,

Would this be so when you pull alongside "Thurston" heading towards his tee time at Fox River Run Country Club, you don't have to raise up in your seat to snicker at his TT before handing him his a$$?

Was I the only one to let the "oxymoron", or lack there of, just slide right past?

I believe that somebody (RedRacer?) posted several weeks ago about doing a Belltech 3/4 drop, minus the shackles, giving a 2/2 drop.

DB:

Exactly. BellTech springs are true 3" F150 drop. Equates to 2" Lightning drop.

Shackles give the 2" rear.

2/2 drop without the hanger(which are no fun to do anyway)

That's right, that was me. I did the whole 3/4 kit with Nitro Active shocks. I didn't like the rear so low so I moved the shackles up one bolt hole (there are 2). I still thought it looked a little too low in the rear (I really like the stock rake). So I took the shackles off and put the stockers back on. PERFECT! (for me anyway). I love it and get tons of compliments. It measures exactly 2" lower in front and rear from stock.

As Tampa said, it would have been MUCH easier to use the Bell Tech shackles and keep the stock hangers on. I think the result would have been just about the same with a whole lot less labor involved.

Since I know nothing at all about lowering can you do the Bellteck kit without cutting anything on the truck?

I believe the only cutting you would have to do is to grind/cut the stock rear spring hangers off if you do the 3/4 drop kit. There was no cutting required to do the front springs and rear shackles on my 00.

Hey Rich -

I thought that translated to "My organ is an Audi"
