Post Portland Oregon Muff

Found a muff shop to install a Magnaflow 12468 for $139.99 total. Muffler and install. Having it done Wednesday. If I am happy with their work I will post the shop info. Just wanted it to sound better for Woodburn on Sunday.

Thumbs up

Cool! I definately want to hear that setup before I start begging the wife for an advance in my allowance.

Have you decided what tips you're going to use? Reuse your current ones? I should get ahold of BABolt to see if I can get a duplicate set of the polished tips he made.

I have some other questions that need your experience, but they'll wait until Sunday.

Plan to stay with the stock tips for now. Just want to add a little rumble. Still toying with adding long tube headers and high flow cats. Just have to figure out how to get it through D.E.Q with the long tubes.

Cool

I'm not sure if these are BABolt's handywork, but they look similar.

Well ktztoy, Portland does have the highest number of strip clubs per capita, you know...

Baby Jake, thanks for the link. Those are exactly what I've been looking for. I don't know if those are BABolt's either, but they look remarkably similar.

Those are the BABolt beauties on svtlightning.com. Note the polish, weld quality and the Lightning signature.

Mine are on the way and I would like to thank Mike for the quality piece.

Big bummer. The shop could not do the install. Do not try Tigard Muffler. They quoted $139.99 installed on the phone. I was very clear with them about what would be involved. That it would not be a simple replacement. They put it up on the rack, did a lot a head scratching and determined they could get it in there for about $350. But they might need to relocate the tips. No thank you, please get my truck off of the lift and I will be on my way. Sorry to get your hopes up. I should have known better.

If you don't mind driving 50 miles North, there is a place called Muffler Hut in Longview, Wa. The guy that owned it years ago (and I'm pretty sure he's still there), was a StreetRod nut. He did great work. Check out information and give 'em a call.

Unhappy

Hey Silver-Bolt, sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately, I'm not currently in a monetary position to consider a muffler change just yet, or else I'd be out helping you look for a good local shop. Next truck expenditure for me is going to be chrome wheels.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open, and ask around. Maybe I can wrangle up a few leads.

Lightfootning,
Have you had work done by them? Good quality work? Thanks for the lead.

Yeah, I have had work done by them in the past. Several years back I purchased 3in mandrel bent over the axle LX style tailpipe setup from a company called "asphalt jungle"
I wanted to graft it into a 3in downpipe setup that I already had installed on my Mustang SVO. I had them do the work. Getting a 3in pipe over the axle on a mustang is NOT EASY. They did a quality job, and didn't charge me an arm and a leg to do it.
Year and years before that, I had them do a dual exhaust on a Ranchero GT W/429. They did a great job, reasonable price.
