Post 7/10ths faster!!!!!!!!!

Did some testing and tune last night. The track that i run on is 1/8th. When I first baught the truck I took her to the track for some base line times, I was running 9.0 all night with 2.0 60 foot. Last night night with a grand worth of mods I ran 8.34 with a 1.83 60 foot. This was on F-1s also. I wish that I knew what the conversion was so I could tell if I made it into the 12s club.

Congrats, Paul.

You're right there as far as the 12s go. My best 1/8 mile is an 8.43 and I ran a 13.203 on that run. It's hard to tell if you'd pick up more than the difference in the 1/8 though, as your 60' time was .12 better than mine.

Still, at worst you are at the 13.0xx mark.

Lloyd,
I gotta disagree. All of my 12 sec passes have been made with 1/8 times of 8.3X.

Paul, you should be there, but it's not a 12 until you really make the pass in the 1/4. No 1/8 conversions allowed.

I found this chart that seems to be pretty close. It's good for a ballpark comparison anyway. According to it, you'd be at about a 13.00 - 13.01. Who knows, you could still be in the 12's now depending on how much it made up in the last 1/8 mile.

My best so far was a 13.07, with an 1/8th mile of 8.22. So I guess a 8.2-8.3 is a 12.xx depending on a lot of factors.

Here's a formula that I worked out to calculate 1/4 mile times. It seems to come with 4 or 5 HUNDRETHS of a second although every once in a while it's off by a tenth. (Pretty accurate I'd say)

1/8th mile time * 1.55 = quarter mile

I think I'll post this one on it's own topic, since this seems to be a question that comes up a lot.

I was wondering how long it would take.

Coolman ram air is a home grown unit. What I did was remove the unused portion of the lower grill honeycone to the left. Then i removed around 3 inched of fram horn. I then bilt a catch box that feeds 4 inches of piping right into the air box. Works great.
