Johnny Lightning DIABLO chip installed.
I have not run at the track yet but I do have a very good assometer.Let me start by saying when it comes to chips,I have had them all except PSP which will be arriving tomorrow to test.I think with all the competition with chips now,Most of the NAME BRAND chip makers are all pretty equal but I will be posting track #s over the next couple of weeks so people can know what to expect within reason from certain chip makers.We have to all remember not every Lightning or track or weather conditions are the same two times inn a row.Now back to JLs chip
It has about the same power as a couple of the other chips ive had and most recently about the same.
The shift stradegy is absolutley the BEST I have ever had.I can now downshift from 40 and under with just the movement of squashing the gas pedal
All the shifts are perfect rpm and firmness and if anything as power goes,I do notice more power through 2nd gear than any of my other chips.
Springers final thought is.Up to this date,It is the absolute best chip i have had yet.It is the most drivable with great power and most of all the shifting is flawless!This is not about track #s at the moment its about drivabilty.Track #s to come It does feel the strongest on the assometer but who knows
Im getting sals in tomorrow and will be testing the drivabilty of that,Ill let you all know how it goes and Ill have #s from the track next week for both chips.Im sure PSP and JLs are gonna be very close if not the same

Hey bud glad you like the new chip.
I cleaned my contacts today on my computer it looks like they might not have been cleaned quite enough. I also spoke to Jim he told me on the 2001's make sure you run with the overdive button in the off position. The 2001's shift into 4th at a lower speed than the 99 or 2000's so with this knowladge my time are bound to improve.

Don,Im glad you think things are better
Just for information purposes,I wanna let you know that in no way you are even going to come close to 4th gear on the track even if they have chips/373s.Also after watching your latest runs,I want you to know there is NOTHING,I MEAN NOTHING 'WRONG" with your truck itself.You said it feels sluggish and i want to confirm with you that it must be just you not being usued to power way up in a truck OR it very well could be the chip you have or the contacts.The reason I know this is because when you started running without the chip, and you pulled 13.8s with 2.30s 60 fts,Thats RIGHT on for low -mid 13s STOCK!!. Personally I do not know enough about your computer contacts to tell you that the chip is working and there is a problem or its just the contacts.But The ONLY problem is with the chip concerns just so you know.Your truck is running very well concidering your 60fts stock.Ill tell you what.
Before You deal with JDM on your chip,I would like you to come down after work next week and let me clean,solder your contacts so you really know if its your chip or the contact.Please let me help you,It will save you alot of time in the end believe me!

Don C...Make sure you tape it in good. Mine came loose and the truck quit running. Glad it was a few blocks from home and not in the traffic jamb I was in right before that. Had no warning it was going to happen. Had to pull the chip, disconnect neg cable, turn lights on and wait 10mins before I got it to fire again. No fun doing this on the side of the road with just a Leatherman. I now carry a wrench just for the cable, but don't think it will happen again. I have a whole roll of duct tape on it now.
