Some basic Exhaust questions?

Some basic Exhaust questions?
Do the stock tips just un bolt or do they have to be cut off. Can an after market muffler be bolted up with out welding?

The tips are clamped on and can(with a little difficulty) be removed.
New mufflers can be clamped on but I would throw a couple weld tacks on to make sure they stay in place. Some people have had even the stock muffler blow off under WOT conditions.
