Thinking of buying some BFG t/a kdw 2's

So I ordered my new wheels yesterday (20's) and almost bought new tires at the same time but decided to hold off because my dealer was about $50 more expensive per tire than tirerack. He was tryin to sell me on the fact that after everything is said and done (installation, balancing, etc) that it would be about the same to go with him . What do you guys think? Worth it to order online?

Also, everyone seems to complain a fair bit about the noise on the BF Goodrich t/a kdw 2's. Do you guys think they'll be much louder than F1's or Nitto 555's?

Thanks!

Do you think we are too stupid to read without things in bold?

I had BFG KDW 1's in 295/40-20 on my old 20x10 smoothie II's and they were by far the best tire I ever had, until they were low on tread, then it was hairy. I ditched the 20x10's because they were a substandard wheel, required alot of lead to balance correctly, the backspacing rubbed on the front swaybar at full steering lock, 6"BS by the way, and the **** poor placment of the vavlestems nearly killed me twice.

Do yourself a favor and have your tire shop put on METAL valvestems, the last thing you need is a rubber valvestem blowing out on the highway when your illegally street racing.

Depends on how much the local shop charges to mount and balance.

As to the noise, dunno. For me, I'm looking for ultimate grip, and by all reports, the KDs are the ticket -- especially for 295/40-20s, of which there are precious few performance tires. If that grip comes with a little noise, I'll suffer through it.

BTW, I ran BFG 295/40-20 runflats, which are very similar to the KDs, and I did not notice any excessive noise.

I was just havin a little fun busting your chops man.

But if you give the local guy the sale, even if it costs you a few more bucks it can help you out in the long run.

I run the same tire[different size] and love them.As for the sale I would think hard and put numbers down as to which is better priced. After you figure mounting and balancing plus tire disposal cost willmore than likely be close and for the extra 10-15 bucks per tire I would give the local the business. After all HE is the one supporting your local economy not tire rack.plus who would you use to mount your tires if you did buy from an order place?STan

Tire Rack has a list of approved installers that they provide with the sale. Might well be the same local shop.
