Post JDM Throttle body Installed

Simple as 1-2-3 to install.

Great throttle response.I do not feel like it is a major power booster but it definatly is better throttle response. For those of you who have chips,You will understand what i mean when i say that the throtttle respose that you get from the throtttle body is about 67% as much as you get from a chip Is it worth the almost 500 it cost? I dunno but The way i look at it,If Johnnys chip gets me into the 12s then even if each other mod is good for only 1 tenth,I should be running 12.5s and 6s???!!!I will have my chip/MAF tomorrow and will post results of the new JL chip/MAF at my local track.
Tomorrow i will be running

JL DIABLO CHIP
90MM MAF--JL
JL FULL RAM AIR
JDM throttle body
Hypertech 160 thermostat

I am going to New England Dragway tomorrrow and I will let you know how it goes. For the record,I ran consistant 13.0s and 1s with just a chip/filter before and a best of 12.9 with another brand chip.

I am hoping for 12.8-9 consistants tomorrow. The only other MOD I am waiting for is the Lower pully which should be this week.In ending My signature should be the above with the addition of lower pully soon. The ONLY other mods i am concidering is

Power cooler
MT ET Steets

I will be happy running 12.8-9s consistant but in reality if JLs program is as good as it looks to be,It is very possible to be running 12.5s or so. Well see ...................

well for the record,I took the L out for another run and I have to say it does have GREAT throttle response now.Im still not to sure about the power but it is a good mod.Only problem is a slight whistling at different throttle positions.

LQ - did you notice any difference in the way the cruise control worked after the TB install?

Question

Is the throttle body from JDM a billet type or is it the FRPP cobra TB?

JDM's is the FRPP style, not billet.

Personally I think the slight whistling sound at initial throttle tip in and closing is kind of cool. Sounds like it is vacuuming all the air around you.

And no, I didn't notice anything strange with my cruise control.

UPDATE,After going to the track,I ran a best of 13.0 tonight which is a touch quicker than before the install concidering my strait pipes are not on anymore. If i do my math correctly,The RAM AIR and THROTTLE BODY NETTED me 2 tenths tops .Not what I had hoped but not bad i guess

Johnny,I belive you are right about the ram air making the most difference. The throttle body is great if you are scared to run a chip because it is a simple non warranty concern mod that gives better response but when used with a chip,I cant honestly say its any better.I am however curious why my mph didnt go up even 1 mph with the ram air?I really need to get my pipes back on today so I can run REAL test. Its tough because with the strait pipes on,My truck feels slower but it really does gain 1-2 tenths consistant. One mod the assometer does not work well on. Im hoping with the new chip/MAF,I can get into the 12s consistant.I was hoping to do it while having a nice quiet truck(factory muffler) but by the looks,The combination of the ram air and throttle body and soon the pully,Looks like I need to open the other end of the motor to make things work together not against each other.I noticed that many in the 12s run an aftermarket muffler like a magnaflow. This looks like a key part here. The way i look at it.In stock form you will see no gain with a muffler but when you start running 4-5 more lbs of boost intake side,You need to E-X-H-A-U-S-T it back out the other end This is my only reasoning for not being in the 12s now after these two mods concidering I ran just as good and better last year without them. STRAIT PIPES are the absolute evening factor because That is when I started running 13.0s1s and 12.9.Other than that it was 13.2 BEST .This is where I base my 2 tenths on gaining from these two mods.
13.2 stock exhaust
12.9/13.0 strait pipes

13.0 stock exhaust/throttle body ram air.

The way I do the math,I SHOULD be running 12.7s and 8s with my mods to date and my ol strait pipes back on.

SOUND RIGHT?
