I have them. I can't compare them to the other mufflers because I haven't been around any. On the other hand, a buddy of mine says the Lightning now sounds much better and is what it needed. He thought the stock exhaust was "weak." He loves the exhaust sound of several of his brother's cars, so the positive response is worthy. (His brother owns 6 AC Cobras and a Daytona Coupe).
Last week at Buttonwillow, I asked everybody for their comments, and they said they couldn't hear them, just the supercharger.
Here's some links if you want an idea of the sound
Into the dirt 24 fps, 7 mb
Behind the scenes (pulling off course) 24 fps, 7 mb
Pass #1, 24 fps, 6 mb
Pass #2 plus main straight, 24 fps, 9 mb
The one pulling off course is just an idle.
Non lighting videos, but fun if you like dogs:

Before I owned my Lightning I had a 2000 Lariat Xcab 4x4, and I wanted to change the stock muffler to something that sounded really deep and loud. I remember reading in the General Exhaust Forum that someone with a similar truck went to Midas of all places (I think) to see if they would install the Flowmaster 40-series he had purchased himself, and they told him about the Ravin muffler- that they claimed would produce a deeper, better sound than the Flow 40. Understandably he didn't believe them and thought that they were just trying to get an extra sale, so they offered to prove him wrong. They bolted up the Flow that the guy had and started it up, let it idle for a bit, and got on it (not driving, just in the lot). Then they did the same with the Ravin, and from what the guy posted it, really was a deeper, throatier sounding exhaust than the Flow, so he purchased the Ravin and did whatever with the other. Now I know that one man's idea of a sweet sounding exhaust can be worlds apart from anothers, but after reading that post I looked into it more and it truly did seem that the Ravin might be a viable option. Although looks are probably one of the least important characteristics one looks for in a muffler, it has a pretty cool matte black finish. I think I remember reading too that a Lightning owner had put them on his (Kobiashi maybe?). Anyways, as best I remember, their website was www.goravin.com if anyone is interested. Later...

Regarding changes for road courses, upgraded front brakes are an effective change, but expensive. Different pads may help, but beware. "Doug S" drove his hard at Buttonwillow and they disintegrated. It may have damaged the rotors also.
If you can get over the fear factor, having no brakes will force you to drive the correct line or drive off the course. I've either driven slow enough to have brakes or off the course. Some day, I hope to be able to negotiate a corner after entering it too hot.
There's no data on suspension changes, although kits are available.
Race tires help, but don't get crazy with gear changes until you check out your final drive ratio.
Chip and MAF work great, but don't plan on running Laguna Seca with the MAF unless you want black flags for noise violations.
I want to try running duct from the fog lights to the front brakes and see how hard you can run before getting fade.
Azeem - comments?

I have 2 Ravin Z-33's on my Lightning. I had 2 Flows on before these and wanted something louder. They are not that loud inside the cab with the windows up,but when you push down on the gas they come to life. I like the sound of them better than the Flows.
