Post Brake pedal shifting?

Noticed something odd the other day. I noticed that my brake pedal moves side to side about a good 0.5 inch. I had to make an emergency stop a couple of days ago. I applied some major force on the brake pedals. I could have sworn that the pedals did not move like this before. I did a search on the forum and I read brake pedals on Supercrews doing the same thing? Is this normal?

It may be the antilock brakes working.

I have a 2001 SuperCrew and that pedal has had the same play (side to side) as you describe from as early as I can remember. It doesn't seem to be a safety issue, but man, it sure cheapens the feel of the ride...

I wish it was the Anti-lock, but I can jiggle the brake pedal side to side about 0.5 inch while the car is parked. Can any other Lightning owner check their brake pedal to see if this is normal? I am trying to avoid taking the truck into the dealer. Too much hassle.
