Air bag light
Well on the way to work this morning, the air bag light starts blinking, and then just stays on. Did the same thing at lunch, so back it goes in for service tomorrow. Any ideas for things to check?

I suspect that the system has read an unusally high Air Bag (suspension) pressure and is reminding you to lower the pressure which will also lower the vehicle to the ground...now if you can only find the switch............just kidding!!! Good Luck with the fix and let us know the outcome.

does it blink two times then three times and keep repaeting the patern till it stays on?
My 99 did that and it turned out to be the electrical contact washer behind the steering wheel. I forget what they called it, but only took 30 minutes to fix. It is a common problem for Fords. If so you should be ok to drive it for a few days.

Yes, that sounds like the trusty "clock spring"......
At least it is a very easy part to replace. It also powers the backlights for the cruise contol buttons, along withe the functions of the buttons and the horn contacts.

Talked to the service advisor and they have diagnosed the problem as a failed seat-belt sensor! The part will be in today and I should have the truck back by 5. Must be something about the 2nd generation air bag that interlinks with the seatbelt...?
