I give up! Need help!
Take firm hold of the 2 black tabs on the cover, close to or slammed into the tailgate. Pull to the rear of the vehicle and slightly up. You have to stretch the fabric so that it releases the plastic edge from its groove. When re-installing, start at the front and think Tupperware.
No idiots observed. If you broke something and then asked, that would be...
Putting it back on is not easy. I suggest having a helper to maintain the tension and to prevent the plastic lip from slipping out. The part behind the cab slips out sideways. There are also 2 straps that can be used to roll it up behind the cab. Be carefull they can not take a lot of tension. Do not use it as you would a normal tie-down strap.

Factory tonneau cover is relatively easy to take off, but a pain in the **** to put back on. If you have difficulty releasing the cover by pulling on the tabs, try pushing up on the edge of the tonneau. You will need to pry up on the plastic edge from the groove. Good luck.
i take delivery of an already ordered 01L may 15th. it has the factory soft cover added(by the dealer). i can refuse the soft cover if i don't want it. my question is, do i want it? help! what do you guys think about the soft tonneau covers?
For the money, the factory cover is pretty good. It fits just fine, and after 5 autocross meetings, I can re-install it without a helper. I have had it up to 200-and-mumble km/h and it held up well. It gives good weather protection for almost no weight.

I like my EXTANG Black Max aftermarket cover. It is adjustable for winter/summer and attaches w/o drilling any holes. Put a Bedrug under whatever cover you decide. I get alot of compliments on that piece.
thanks blacklight. i will autocross and driver's school too. have you lowered your L? how? if shackles; did handling degrade because of rear end shifting side-to-side?

It is not neccessary to do anything to the truck, except getting an good alignment. You want to increase negative camber to around 0.75 degrees (top of the tire leans IN). For my Hoosiers, I am running -3 degrees... Run the F1's at at least 44 psi.
In the stock trim you should be competitive in F-Stock class. On the first of the club meetings, (not counting for regional championship points) a multiple US class champion came up from Tacoma WA, and drove the truck to a class win, with me in 3rd place.
Do not be scared of accelerating coming out of corners, but put it in 2nd. You don't want a 3/4 throttle or a WOT downshift in a corner.
