Check your Rims up front
Check your Rims up front
Just had my tire changed and the inside of my rim was weared down (Top or the rim but inside the lip). Some of the rime was worn down more in some areas than others.
I took a look at it and found the lower control arm where the brake line hose bracket is has a hex screw on bottom side.
When you turn your front left tire all the way to the left to make a turn it was grinding the inside of my rim pretty bad.
Right side front turn it all the way to make a right same thing but not as bad.
My truck has the stock rims since buying it new in 2001 this is pretty messed up and dangerous.
Just wanted to let my fellow Lightning owers to be on the look out.
If anyone has had the same problem please let me know thanks.

You can either make one to match the missing one and bolt it on or you can buy two in a package from a Ford Motor Sports dealer. They are sold to replace the stock steering stop on regular F150s when installing Lightning wheels. It is no more than a piece of hex stock with a hole drilled and tapped for a grade 8 bolt to fasten it to the lower control arm.
