What are the signs of a intercooler problem. My intercooler fluid level has dropped.

 

If the intercooler fluid level drops, then you are probably leaking. It is a sealed system and ethelyn glycol doesn't evaporate.

If so, then which dealer? did you have any problem with the service tech?

Yes, I just had it replaced at Tommy Vaughn Ford. There have been a number of others that have had thiers replaced at various dealers around town.

I highly recommend Tommy Vaughn, thier truck shop staff is top notch and will take care of you properly (the mgr is a Lightning owner and a member of HALO www.haloclub.com )

I highly recommend that you do NOT replace your intercooler at this juncture. Add a can of GB cooling system sealant to your i/c reservoir, and WAIT until Ford comes out with the new and improved (?) replacement i/c. What's the point of replacing your with the s.o.s when it will only fail again? Some people on this board are on their third or even fourth intercooler.

Do I need to remove the chip prior to taking it in for them to check the ic?

Will the service rep have a problem with a airraid setup?
