Post Won "Best Truck in Show" Pictures

There was a "Mustang Madness All Ford Show" In Hawaii on March 25, 2001. I won "Best Truck in Show". I got to meet John Coletti Ford Special Vehicle Division Chief Engineer. He really liked my Lightning! And Dennis Gage of Tnn's "My Classic Car".

I don't know which is more beautiful: where you live, or your truck. Toss-up.

Do you have an extra bed for me and extra parking spots for my L's?? Or I guess I could just live on the beach. Oh yeah Colorado has great skiing, but I've lived here 25 years and hate skiing. Love your truck!

The handlbar 'stache has been covered; so did you ask the Chief about intercooler leaks?

Care to share your prep/detailing before the show. Truck looks great.

Congrats!

NeedFourSpeed, While talking to John Coletti about Lightnings I asked him on the side if he will have a permentant fix for the intercoolers he first told me having a broken intercooler your L. will be faster. something to do with {guycoat} misspelled. He said in April he will have a fix and 99 & 00 owners should have nothing to worry about he will be replacing bad intercoolers with new ones. He was really cool! I asked him if that was his 99 Red L on Ebay he said yes his son was trying to sell it while he was visitng Europe to make room for a T Bucket.
For detailing my L for a show I remove all the rims clean them inside and out polish and clean what ever I can the under carriage, Foam padded with buffer the paint to get the factory orange peels out, Cherry wax the paint, the interior vacuum, dress with a leather dressing and conditioner. It took about a week to get the L in show room shape. The engine I wiped and polished and dressed the rubber with rubber dressing. In the show I had my hood open so spectators got check the engine out. HOpe this is some help, DJY

Thumbs down

If John was suggesting that "{guycoat}" = Glycol would make a truck faster he has been smoking something. The glycol will ruin the plugs and the o2 sensors.

At least he is saying that replacements are coming..

DJY - Very true. 6 days apart, but 200 trucks apart. You're the closest to me that I have found.

Your efforts paid off! I see you use the Cherry Wet Wax. I got some from ACS. Good Guys. What kind of comments did you get about the shine?

NeedFourSpeed, I got plenty of thumbs ups! Some guys couldnot believe that it was a factory paint job. I've tried a lot of waxes and polishes so far I'm really happy with the Very Wet Cherry Wax.
