What wax/polish do you use for your L?
I'll join in the group Zaino buy. I am going through Zaino like bad beef through an old lady.

I am completely serious. Nothing! I repeat nothing will outperform, or last longer then Zaino.
If anyone is interested in joining the GP then e-mail me. I don't sell the product, but I am incharge of setting up the group purchase.

There's an active group purchase('til April 24'th anyway) of Zaino over at the Camaro board but it won't let me link specific posts. Look in the Group Purchase section and you'll see it.

No, on the bed cover. I am refering to the TIE Ford cover. The hard tops must be drilled and look too high up I like the TIE black one that sits almost flat and inside. The snap one is FUGLY. Dealer wants 419 for the snapless cover and its not paintable.
Thanks.

A glaze does not offer long-term protection. It can enrich the paint and possibly help cover some swirls. Its a good product but should be followed by a wax/sealant.
BTW, I use the same hand glaze as you; I also like/use Zaino and the Cherry Wet Wax is $24/gallon. I haven't made up my mind on it yet.

I never ever use wax. I use hand glaze.
"3M Imperial Hand Glaze, part no. 05990"
Wipe on, wipe off BEFORE it dries.(never use in sunlight or on hot surface) It's fast and easy. The paint soaks it up, makes it look wet and deep. Instant satisfaction. It's only about 10 dollars at the local auto paint supply house. 10 bucks, one of you non believers should try it instead of shoveling out the cash for fancy smancy zanio and cherry wet wax. Also, Make sure you use wax and grease remover on the paint first.

NeedFourSpeed,
Your quite right. Glaze does not offer long term protection. It only last for 3 or 4 washings. However, when you do go over the glaze with wax.... it just does not look as good as just the glaze alone.
Hand glaze is very fast and easy to use. Most Lightning owners seem to wax their trucks all the time. So I figure why not just glaze it every 3rd or 4th time you wash it instead of waxing? Glaze with no wax on top of it looks best. (of course that is just my humble opinion)
I just love the smell of the stuff also. Don't let that warning label scare ya,(this is the first time I have read it) It says something about overexposeure to the vapors causeing respiratory irritation and central nervous system depression. Wow, and just look at the ingredients, stoddard solvent, white mineral oil, aluminum silicate, castor oil, glycerin and acrylic emulsion. Hmmm, I always thought the reason that I felt good after glazeing my truck was because of pride in a job well done. Now it seems perhaps it was just the fumes.

To all you ZAINO freaks out there I have used it for the last year and a half and thought it was the best shine ever until I saw what the cherry wet wax did. Cherry wet wax is easier to use and the results are a wetter looking more deepening shine than Zaino. I have done a few side by side test between zaino and cherry wet and the cherry wet came out better everytime. there are many out there that are just starting to use the cherry wet wax who will agree with my results. the cost of Zaino polish #2 or #5 is around $12.95 for 8 fl.ounces of polish. cherry wet wax is $24-$30 dollars a gallon depending on where you get it from. that is 128 fl.ounces for $24-$30 dollars. that is a bargain. 128 ounces of zaino would cost around $200 dollars and alot more time in labor. Zaino takes long time to dry but the cherry wax is dry in 5 minutes. I love the look of the cherry wax on my red 2000L and will be using it on my 95r too. thanks 95rcobra.
Lightfootning - Never have looked at just a glazed finish without thinking about going to the wax. I'll have to give it a try.
95rcobra- I'm still not totally convinced on the cherry wet wax. Need to see how it holds up and what happens with washings.
I think paint condition and preparation are the key. I've never used Zaino on a brand new car until recently with my Black 01. Perhaps on new prepared paint it looks the best while cherry wax looks better on paint that needs a little cleaner and oils???
Hard to beat that black bird above and I have seen some pretty impressive liquid glass jobs. That stuff seems to layer nicely to give a deep wet look.
Prep is the key in my book. I even clay barred my new car and it is looking real good with only one coat of Z-5. I will be doing many layers.

I'm another convert from Zaino to Cherry Wet Wax. I used Zaino for over three years and swore by it until I tried the Cherry Wet Wax. I makes the paint look like glass, plus it's cheap (actually that's is not a factor as I would pay $200 per gallon for it.)
