Thumbs up Just installed JDM Filter & Chip.....couple of questions & comments

Just received my 12" bigmouth filter & street chip from Jim@JDM. The chip install went great except for the removal & replacement of the bracket that supports the ford computer (what a pain in the A$$).
I do however have a problem with the bracket that holds the end of the filter, I know I saw someone that had a SS hose clamp set up to hold the filter better, I tried the search feature and could not find the info again.
Does someone have a simple solution on this problem? Or remember the pic posted about the filter clamp?

Other than the filter mount, I love the chip & filter, it makes a huge difference in shifting and acceleration, plus I love hearing the blower whine now!

I just put 90MAF and filter in the other day. I plan on modifying my old airaid box to work with the new setup. In the meantime just got creative with zipties to keep the filter from bumping and rubbing on anything.

Was there supposed to be a gasket between the filter adapter and the factory intake tube running to the throttle body??? I didn't install one but am wondering if I should have .. and I agree the bracket at the front of the filter leaves a lot to be desired --

Jim44,

I would suggest using the foam ring (gasket) that was on the MAF-to-airbox connection.

I felt there should have been a gasket, so I made one. I used a hanging folder from my fileing cabinet, and traced the filter adaper outline on it, then cut it out with a razor blade.
I did the whole 90maf conversion, so I kept the foam gasket on the old setup. I figured it was too small anyhow.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best filter kit? Or are the different people/places, selling the same kit? What can one do for an end bracket that looks/does, what it is supposed to do without tearing up the end of the filter?
I can't see buying the K&N FIPK to get a nice bracket for the JDM kit.
Give me awhile and I'll see if I can come up with 6 more questions.

One more question and I promise I'll quit for at least 20mins.
Who ships the quickest on these filter kits?
My truck is not whining enough.
