Anyone going this Sat.? I am not sure what day they have test and tune there, but my dad will be there (he lives in Boston). I bought a 2001 a few weeks ago and he don't quite believe what they will do in the 1/4 mile. So he said he will go see for himself. If anyone sees a gentleman in his late 50's driving a 1997 Blue Crown Victoria, show him that these trucks will break a 14 sec. 1/4. Thanks fellow L owners.....

I was there last night. Ran a best 14.00, I was pissed. I expected to do a lot better with the mods I had in there and improve from last years 13.9. What irks me is that the truck gets out of the hole great, but has no top end. The mph i expected to improve from last year, but they were all lower. The shifts seem all messed up. I think I'm gonna pull the r9 superchip and airaid and go with JL's kit, either that or the bottle.

Something is DRASTICALLY wrong for you to be pulling 14.0s or 13.9s with a chip!!!!Other than early season traction problems(which you say you didnt have) tHAT TRACK IS VERY VERY FAST. This is where I have run 12.9 with just a chip/filter.You need to toss that R9 and go with a Johnny lightning chip.I would bet that it is not even that the chips programming is off rather that it is not working at all! Most Ls up there run 13.7to 13.9 stock.Ill be up ther soon as I am JL equipped.

And for you Johnny lightning,You dont even need to call me.Just charge my card,You have the # and SHIP the CHIP/90MM MAF !!!! I cannot wait!!!!!

It sounds to me like your flowmasters might be making you lose a little too but even at that if your chip was workin,You should AT VERY LEAST be running 13.3-5s with ANY brand chip!!!

 

lquick, you're right, i dont think the chip is working either. I have taken it out and recleaned the contacts etc.. I'm gonna switch to JL instead of trying to get the chip reburned.

I am ready for the track now.

I put the JDM Chip in today, man it feels like I have a new truck. I used to have a hard time doing a real good burnout unless I powerbreaked it a little. Today I was sitting at a light punched the gas and man did the smoke fly AWSOME

I went with the more conservitave of his two street programs. Jim told me 30hp at the rear wheels, this one feels great I can't imagine how the more agresive program drives like.

by the way anyone going to the two Nascar races I will be at both, and might have a extra ticket for the second race.
