hard start in cold

anyone have this problem? when the expy was stock, it never was an issue. this winter, on the cold mornings, it takes several cranks and pumping of the gas pedal to get it started. one day i had the pedal floored and then cranked it, and it turned over. the tank is hardly ever under 1/4 full, so low gas can't be the problem. i did buy a heater from wolverine heaters that attaches to the bottom of the oil pan and keeps everything warm overnight. haven't had a chance to install it yet though. thoughts?

Don't pump the gas pedal

If it doesn't crank right away, stop for a second and try again.
