Kickdown's on L?

Hey guys you know how for a stock L. (stock pulley) a kickdown from 40-120 is a bad thing for the rods in cold weather. What is considered cold? and what about in a normal day 65-90 degrees.

colder depends on your tune usually... but it's usually around 45*. for a stock, I don't know if you have to consider "cold" after the truck is warmed up. and if 40-120 is bad for a stock... I've been a naughty naughty boy (o: with my 6lbs lower.
