Engine cleaning
I for one have never trusted spray and pray. With me it's wet rags sometimes with a little Simple Green on 'em if it's really grungy. But I don't generally let it get that bad.

Don't ever spray your enigine compartment, My body guy's kid was trying to nice one day and hosed down and washed my engine compartmen, and after that the coil pack went out on the truck. I would never do that again to any vehicle, especially with all the electronics now.
Just use a rag and maybe some armor all on the hard plastic, don't use it on the rubber. I've seen it mess up some rubber hoses on other cars.

For one, never clean when your engine is warm. Let it cool off. Steam can get into places that you don't want it. I use plain ole 409, a hose, and a rag. Cheap easy way to keep things clean. I also Armor-All some of the parts on occasion.
Never use high pressure sprays at the do-it-yourself places. No good.
Refer to the FAQ. Has a section for cleaning engines.

Hey boys thanks for all the tips on cleaning, i have a question for RTKILLA, what size JL's are those and how did you get them to fit. I have two MTX Thunder 8000's and i really had to squeeze them in there. My passenger side seat is way up now.
They are JL 10 inch W3's.
Allot of practice with building boxes helped me manage that one. Had to do some pannel trimming.
