Where to run wire through firewall?
I am installing some electronics and wonder if there is a good spot to pull through small wire into the cab? Or where to DRILL holes on the wall... I am thinking about getting ign switched power off the intercooler circulation pump. max 5 amp temporoary draw circuit. Thanks!

Driver's side corner of the engine compartment. There is enough room behind the electronic box high on the firewall to get your hand to the firewall. I initially dislodged the box to drill the hole from the engine compartment. Fish a wire from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment and pull through. Easy to hide in that corner.

There is a rubber grommet the size of a silver dollar just to the left of the brake booster on the firewall that can easily be popped out and put back in. I used that to run my air horn switch lead. Very easy.

Thanks for the hints I will look at them tomorrow. I am installig a LIDAR gun jammer to defeat those ever growing lidar traps around DFW. I bought the M10 Blinder it jammed to gun on every test Speed Measurement labs. put it through. Hey Dennis, I met Brian the other night he was on his way home, saw my 01' and pulled over to say hi. Hope you guys get together soon!

I think the rubber grommet that BadBolt is talking about might only apply to 99 Lightnings. I looked high and low for a hole in my 00 lightning and never saw this rubber grommet that other people had mentioned to me.
But maybe I just missed it...

TahoeSS,

Thanks

Arlington has a dozen of them as does Irving they have 6 in cars and 6 on bikes. Whenever you see a cop aiming a unit like a scoped pistol it is LIDAR. Dallas Sherrif has a few and they burn up I-20 and spur 408 with them. Pantego even bought one. Next year they are supposed to have mobile LIDAR available. They can nail you at over 4000 feet in traffic and it measures your speed 70 times in 1/3 of a second. Fortunately LIDAR is light/laser and is regulated by the FDA not FCC so it is more legal to jam except for some Federal laws on jamming any police speed measurements. Fortunately they don't use VASCAR around here.
