Post Anyone with lighted logos or general electrical knowledge?

I have the lighted logos installed on my truck. I have them taped into the marker lights. How hard would it be to hook the logos up to a switch so I could turn them on and off as I please?

Thanks

John

Check out my web page - I took some pictures when I intsalled mine. They are wired to the fog light circuit so I can turn them off and on with the fogs

You have 2 conditions to discuss. Turn them on & off with the marker light ON: just route the wire you have tied to the marker light, thru a switch. You could also use the voltage from the marker lights to turn a solenoid on and off with the same new switch.
If you want to turn your new lights on without any other lights on, then you will need to get voltage to them via a switch or the aforementioned switch and solenoid similar to the kit you get with aftermarket fog lights. You might want some help with the second options.

i wired my logo to a switch..

install light, connect transformer, run wires inside cab, ground the negative wire,
connect the positive wire to one side of a small switch (raidoshack)
connect another piece of wire to the other side of the switch & tap into the fuse box for power.

there is a small hole in the e-brake bracket that i used to mount the switch. its hidden under the dash, but i can reach down & flick it on with no problem.

you can see just barely see the hole in the top left corner of this picture.

i used fuse taps to get power for my radar detector & logo.

you can find them at raidoshack and auto stores.
sorry for the blurry pics.

hope this helps
