I live within 120 miles of Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. I must have a lightning now! I don't think I can wait 7-10 weeks to order one. Anybody seen any 2001's at any dealerships in this area?

I'm really pissed that Ford won't let me order one from my local dealer. I buy all my vehicles from him and now I have to drive 100+ miles and deal with someone I don't trust! I would be willing to wait if I could order one from my local dealer! Ford says I can take an L to any dealer for service but I have to go to an SVT authorized dealer to purchase? WTF?

Any suggestions? (no flames please)

 

You might try Tommy Vaughn Ford, Texan Ford, Bay Area Ford (where I bought mine, talk to Robert Burgett) here in Houston. I think that there are a number of other SVT dealers in town, but these are the ones I would suggest talking to first.

Go to Joe Myers Ford on Highway 290 and Jones Rd (713) 896-8200. Ask for Richard "Pinky" Hammond. He is the SVT Sales Manager. Tell him Richard With the White Lightning sent you and he will give you a deal.

You might want to try Lee Jarmon Ford in Carrollton,TX they are right out of Fort Worth. They were the only people with in 400 miles of me that had a 2001 at the time I got mine. Call David Keen @ 800-242-6415.
Also I KNOW there will be one at Philpott Ford in Nederland, TX because thats where my origional order was placed. There should be a silver one in with in a week or two. Call Bob Thuman at 888-973-5338 and tell him Roger sent you.

 

Hey guys! Thanks for the suggestions and for putting up with my whining :-&gt; I feel better already. I'll start calling these dealers this week and hopefully be in my new L soon!

Also, I've emailed Ford to complain about the SVT dealer only policy (there's prolly a good reason for it). Next I'm gonna threaten to buy my wife a Suburban instead of Excursion if they won't let me order through my local dealer! Hehe. I should prolly just move out of the sticks.
