Talking juicy rumor

I recall reading in some post the other day that Ford was going to put a larger supercharger on the Lightning in some future year. I couldn't find the post, and I couldn't find any mention of this at BON. However, I was shooting the breeze with my car dealer the other day, and mentioned this possibility to him, and he responded that this might well be the case, because Magnusen Engineering, who did a lot of the development work on our motors, borrowed a couple V-10s from him for some development work, which could very well entail installing a larger blower. Does anyone see a blown V-10 in our future?

And for all those that thought changing 8 plugs on the L was fun, wait until they wedge 2 more in there!

Personally I'd like to see them improve the V8 and not go to a V10. Seems like there would have to be more weight to push around with a V10. That doesn't seem like a plus for a truck that has a stock weight of almost 5K pounds.

Plus, people won't like getting beat by a V10 supercharged truck any better than they like getting beat by a V8. It'll just give them one more excuse.

I have heard that Ford was going to go all aluminum in the very near future, with the engine blocks, and 3 valve cylinder heads.

I also seem to remember someone saying they drove a proto-Lightning with a supercharged V10 that pulled like a sumbitch with its *** on fire, but turned less responsively than our current setup, more understeer.

???

I had a 99 F250 Superduty V10, and no matter what you did to the exhaust(I had 3 different set-ups on it) it sounded like a singer sewing machine IMHO. One person mentioned to me " Oh, your truck sounds like a rocketship". Ugh!! Hope they stick with more performance from an 8

Isn't there a body style change coming in 03?
