Which Brand Of Tire?
Which Brand Of Tire?
Thinking of buying new tires for my stock 18inch rims for my L. I want a all purpose tire, (good for rain, street racing, and long durability) price is not much of a factor. I want either 295 45 r18 or 305/315 45 r18. I want some opinions which can be alternative to buying the same goodyear f1's THANKS
i got the hankooks and they are alot better than the f1's in the rain, of course anything will slide some if u are tryin to in the wet. they work ok for snow, but its a lightning i mean come on, snow = not going anywhere fast lol...and they are nice in the dry but they will still spin if ur gettin it right from the start. overall a really great tire for the price, it was between them and the nitto's for me, but i figured id give these a try and then nitto's nextime, its a price difference of about $200+ give or take. ive heard nothin good about toyos at all. do a search and im sure you can find some more good information.

Wanna try some Nittos but I've heard they suck in rain, and wear out pretty fast...
Toyos suck nuts. Hankooks are the best "bang for the buck". F1s are ok but there are better alternatives. Nittos are really good on dry pavement but kinda iffy in snow/ice/rain. Also, with the Nittos there are the regular tires and also a nitto extreme "r" or something like that which is an even better dry traction tire, but which also wears out real quick.
My vote is Nitto if you have the $$.....if you don't then snag the 'kooks.

I'm not sure if they make it in the right size for a lightning, but I had the BFG KDW-2's on my mustang, and I swear by them. They are amazing in rain, and even better in dry. I'd look into them, very big patch areas for gripping during street racing... don't ask how i know.

I wish there was one tire that would do all those things...
There isn't!!!
If you seriously want traction for that occasional street encounter get these.

NITTO Drag Radials
I have found them to be suprisingly good on wet streets.
My truck launches like a raped ape on the street with these.
I'm only mildly modified though...Around 390-400 rwhp.
