Ford GT Block Availability

All,

Any truth to the rumor that the aluminum GT blocks aren't going to be produced anymore? I've heard that Ford has stopped making them and I've also heard that Ford has issued a 'Stop Sale' on them with no date for availability listed.

Anyone, Bueller, Bueller...

I have heard similar stories about it, but i heard also that World or some other company is going to buy the casting design and begin making them.

Hi Jim

I had this conversation with your boss about this very subject last November.
Suggested he brought the rites but he said it would be big bucks though.

Still tempted to go the GT 3.4 & 4 valve though it looks awesome.
However I want a nice low 10 on this motor first mate.

How you getting on with Brian's Whipple upgrade ??

Regards from a very wet and unplesant England

Pretty sure that World already makes an alloy 5.4 block.

I know we thought about it but we dont have the resources to produce these or the astronomical figures it would cost to buy the rights!

The 5.4 4v with 3.4 is the ultimate power plant in my eyes. Still for street use your not going to get anymore power because of fuel quality. However on race fuel this mill is capable of 900 HP if you have adequate fuel supply. Which will probably mean a slew of new parts for you too Rick!

The 3.4 5.4 2v whipple blower is going very well. We have been able to make 700-715 HP with the current fuel components we use. (60# injectors, 97 rails, JDM fuel system) but we did have to go to a 2800 mass air. We are working on bigger rails and injectors now for Brians truck and hope to hit around 800 RWHP on a race tune. Then we are talking 9's all boost any given day of the week!!

Yep...World makes one, or at least professes to make one, already and you've got Hyland's steaming pile of dung.

World does not make an aftermarket block. They USE to; they were casting them for SHM, the casting was junk. Usually World has great quality products, although these were not. Not placing blame necessarily on them, but the end result wreaked havoc. World says one thing, SH says another, I spoke to both of them at SEMA... Stan

No, I'm only trying to explain World does not cast blocks for SHM any longer, or any modular based block. SHM will not release the info about who is casting their newly designed block, but there are rumors out there... Stan
