My L vs an '01 5-speed GT at the track
Well, I finally managed to make it to a track with the L. Too bad it's only an 1/8 mile, but it was still fun. As you can tell by my r/t, I'm still a little jumpy being a track first-timer and the Cobra T/B doesn't help matters.
A friend of mine owns this mustang. We ran 4 times and I beat him every time by about 3 car lengths. It's bone stock and my truck was only running with the Magnaflow and T/B. My airkit and 90mm MAF is on a shelf right now because JDM has my chip. So, the stock box with a paper filter was on it during the racing. Still, not too bad, but I was hoping for 8.7's.
The fastest street cars there was a new Z28 and Trans Am. (All Mustangs and Cobra's were in the 9.10's-9.60's) Both GM's were 6 speed cars. The Z ran a 7.94 and the T/A ran a 8.36. They both had a chip, MAF, air kit, exhaust, and the Z had an aluminum flywheel to boot. My chip will be here tomorrow and I'm going back for the kill Friday. Well, hopefully for the T/A. I even complimented their cars and they said nothing about my truck. Wish me luck.
