Post Removing Sticker glue

To all you body guys out there

What chemicals are safe to use to remove the glue used on the typicel vynal stickers. The car is a 96 Neon. I have tried bbq lighter fluid. I also have wd40, lacqure, xyline, carb cleaner, brake clean. My concern is the paint. Does anyone know what the paint is.

Thanks for any help. (Cus I hate to paint)

Andy

If the sticker has been on since 96, I would think the outline will show because the rest of the paint has faded a bit. Bug and tar stuff should remove any glue residue.

3M adehsive remover has worked well for me in the past. Get the sticker off with it and then clean real well w/soap and water. If left on too long it will attack the paint/clearcoat.

Go to a place that sells auto paint supplys and they should have a spray that takes it off.

The car is white. The paint has very little fade as most of it's life it has been under cover as a race car.

I have never dealt with vinyl sticker glue but I have had 100% success with WD40. It requires some soaking time in some cases but I have never come across adhesive that could stand up to it.... Until now perhaps.

There are a couple Vinyl cutters on this board hopefully they will offer suggestions...

Andy
Nice car. Why do you want to take the stickers off? BTW white is the fastest color
