First times with my 2001...
I went to the track tonight for the first time in my 2001 L. It is completely stock and full weight w/ tonneau cover. The truck had only 359 miles on it by the time I got to the track. The track is ~100 ft. above sea level and the temp was in the 50's. I made 3 runs:
Run 1: 60' 2.08 8th 8.81 8th MPH 80.82 1/4 13.69 1/4 MPH 101.19 Run 2: 60' 2.11 8th 8.74 8th MPH 81.56 1/4 13.57 1/4 MPH 101.42 Run 3: 60' 2.05 8th 8.69 8th MPH 81.84 1/4 13.51 1/4 MPH 101.77 Needless to say, I was very impressed with my times considering the low miles and my 60' times. The track was fairly crowded last night. I would have been able to make 1 or 2 more runs but I got there an hour late. Also, there was a 2 car crash on the track that stopped racing for an hour or so. |

BTW, Incon306 this is your thread and I just wanted to congratulate you on your awesome results. In the future, you might also note the barometric pressure (BP) when you make a run, as it is the most significant weather condition. Documenting the BP for each outing may help ward off being discouraged if you don't have a good night (and the rest of the environmental conditions were the same). Remember, ET is traction, MPH is HP. You can have a horrible ET night (because the track is not prepped right for instance) and still have a good MPH night with perfect weather.

How can you find the BP for the night? Do most tracks have a gauge or something? Just curious because I was at the same track as Jeff a couple of weeks ago and I didn't see any postings like : temp, barometer, humidity, etc.. Humidity here is generally on the dry side (although not as dry as Az!). How exactly can the barometer affect performance ,like low pressure or high pressure.
