Cutting Your Stock Air Intake Box?

Hey guys i have a stock intake with at KN air filter. Some of my friends were recomending to make a whole on the bottom of the intake box where the air filter goes. Just wanted to get some opinions. DOES IT WORK OR AM I JUST MAKING SPEED HOLES(JK)

An answer to your question is , yes it will work.
You can run some 3" or 4" flex down for a breath of fresh air as well...

Theres a stock airbox mod.. theres a how to either on this site or another lightning site. but it's something I'm going to try when I get the time. It's just like what Dbl G says, get some tubing and run it down to get cold air... or if you have an aftermarket hood, up to where the cold air comes in.
