Need help with towing!!
I am preparing to move across the country and I have decided to haul my belongings. I will be towing around 4000-4500 pounds. Should I remove my chip to prevent detonation? Are their any other tips that any of you know of that would assist me in my move? Thanks for all your help.

I would take the chip out. Also, if the trailer has electric brakes, have a controller/adjuster installed in your truck and set it up for the trip. You don't want to work the L brakes more than needed. Drive safe.
BadBolt,
Thanks for the help. I have taken your advice and installed a brake balance controller. I am also going to remove my chip prior to leaving. One final question, would you suggest leaving the tranny in 3rd the whole way? I don't want to burn up OD but am not sure if what I will be hauling will be too much for OD. Thanks for everybody's help.

I run a vaccum gauge all the time. It is far easier to keed the truck out of boost with the "od off button pushed" and yes pull the chip unless it has a valet mode
Hope this helps
