The truck is paid for this month which means i will be in the market for a new long block later this year. I use my truck for street and open track events. I want a engine that will hold up to this type of abuse. i want a engine that is going to be fun on the street. I also will TRY to keep my 2.3L Whipple in the 16 psi range with the long block lol. I am not looking for max hp/tq but a engine that fits my needs. What stage cams and heads would be best for me? What kind of engine would you build for these needs?

the long block will be about the same as the ones that are sold currently.the big diff will be the oiling.and use a higher spring psi since the oil will get hotter and the springs will die back faster.Just remember in road racing the only lap that counts is the LAST one so build for endurance not HP.Stan
well over the last few days i have emailed or spoken to a few lightning vendors about my new long block. All the vendors have been really good about responding to all my questions. Two that stand out are JLP and DMP. They responded the fastest and had a lot of suggestions and options for me. JLP is the closest to me and we have already discussed him doing the install and tune. I look at it this way. It is a long drive for me but with johnny doing the install and tune at their shop leaves no questions about the install and tune if something goes wrong. Stan from DMP was great to deal with but they are just so far away from me which means i would have to pay shipping, someone or me install it, and someone to tune it. Alittle to many people involved for such are large investment for me. With the luck i have had with this truck JLP doing all the work at their shop is the smart choice for me.
going with a iron long block due to budget lol. johnny est. power to be from 530-600+ depending on boost and tune. now off to save a lot of money!
