Post Calling Don C

Hi Don, I know you had a magna flow muffler put on. I want a muffler that has a little more rumble at an idle then the stock muffler. But not to loud at highway speeds.Does the magnaflo do that?. Thanks. Bob.

hey Bob
The MagnaFlow is a little louder when you get on it, and at highway speeds you can hardly notice the difference. I put the 14568 which is the larger of the two they make for our trucks. I am very happy with it, unlike the Bassani I had on my last truck that gave me headaches on the highway.

It is a very subtle difference one I am sure you will like. That must be the reason so many of us have them on our trucks.

I got mine at exhaustproslinc.com

Don C is the magnaflow something that just bolts up or does it require some welding? I have not had a chance to look up under the truck so I don't know how the stock muffler comes off.

Thanks

John

Sorry to intrude . Here is a pic of my Magnaflow 12468 with Borla Tips. Nice and subtle rumble at idle, no drone at highway speeds, and great "BUH BYE" roar with WOT.

Hey Bob,

I had to sourced a Magnaflow through their website http://www.magnaflow.com/04dealer.htm but had to call around a bit as most places didn't know they were a dealer .

The Borla tips were purchased through Summit (Part # Bor-20116) for $35 each and tack welded to the pipes.

I had the installer utilize the factory hanger bracket but make a new piece to attach to the pipes.

Love that sound.
