I always disconnect it at the track and I forget about it until today when my check engine light came on. Will that set a code? The truck run's fine and I hate to to take it to the dealer and listen to them gripe about the mods.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

mike: i believe it will set a code however i don;t think it will cause a light to come on. maybe someone will know for sure...JL

 

I was told Check engine was ONLY related to emissions issues. O2 sensors or fuel cap, etc.

Well I was hoping that was it,but I guess I'll have to go listen to those suckers complain. Silver you may be right about the emissions,as a friend of mine had a Camaro and it would set the light because of his smog pump. I'm going to reset it first with the solenoid plugged back in and see what happens. I'll keep you guys posted if thats it,but it looks like it's something else.

Unhook the battery and clear the check engine, may have only been the gas cap. If it comes back then take it in.
