Help transmission problems????
Today my 00 L will not shift out of 1st gear under WOT and hard acceleration. Any suggestions? Could it be the chip? I have the R9. Even when it shifts under normal driving it's not shifting right. I'm going to remove the chip and try than. Thanks in advance

Well, good luck to you. I hope it is the chip, but that sounds similar to what I experienced right before my SECOND tranny went out...with 100 miles on it.

My tranny is also balking on the 1-2 shift under wot. We think it is a bad solenoid, but won't know until I take it to the dealer on the 23rd (if it lasts that long). I think the solenoid is the most likely culprit; I would check it first.

Well, I took it to the dealer this morning and I am waiting to hear what the problem is. It still did the exact same thing without the chip. I'll post a result of their finding when I hear.

Got a call from the dealer just now and he said 2nd gear is "shredded". He then stated I'm gonna help you out this time but if you put that chip back in it will void your warranty. I took it out, but I guess he could see where the tape was. Now for the knockout blow, he states, "When you get the survey from ford, give me complete satisfaction because very good satisfaction is not good enough". Can you believe that sh$t?

I just dropped mine off at the dealer for the almost same problem, mine would shift but only after the truck reved all the way up past 5000, at about 1/4 throttle. Thats barely moving the damn truck. There putting in a new trans this week. Its most likely not the chip. I had an R9 before and then I put a new 90 with the PSP 4 way program and after a week the trans happend to me. So I took the chips out and put the stock mm on and resetted the CPU and sure enough its still doing it. My tech whos a fellow racer, said that it sounds like it might be some type of piston in the valve body sticking. something like that.
Take the truck in, but reset the CPU first.

That is what happened to my FIRST tranny. Second gear was gone. The dealership made me buy another computer b-4 they would even work on it (as I previously had a chip in it). They did replace it, after giving me grief over the chip. I have not gotten a survey yet, though. Someone called and talked to my wife and she told them they did not want to talk to me (since the second tranny was out 2 days after they put it in).
Also, just as an fyi, just disconnecting the battery and draining the memory, the "chip code"--p0605 or something--is still there!

Most likely, your second gear clutches and sprague are toast and your tranny is due for a trip to the rebuilder, sorry but I have seen this many times before.
Mine was rebuilt by a local transmission shop for around $1700 with upgraded parts. Good luck with yours.
Did you buy your truck used? If so, the previous owner could have put a valve body (FTVB, Punisher, LFP, etc.) in to shift harder which wouldn't be a bad thing.
