Ok so yesterday I came home from work and noticed that under the hood on the passenger back side of motor it was somken, this morning I wake up and find oil on the ground. So jacked the truck up and looked but it looks like to me that the oil is coming down off the back side of the motor on the rear of the passenger side towards the top. So is there any one who has had this issues before so I know what I getting myself into before I try too figure it out. I really dont want to have to take it some where to get done. Thanks for the help!!

 

IM thinkin its either a value cover gasket or intake mainfold gasket. But any help would be great.

 

Has anyone had anything like this before I have looked and nothing is on the valve cover so Im not sure what maybe the problem is Im thinking maybe the PCV but not sure so if anyone has had anything like this before please help.

 

Alot of people have had head gaskets leak oil, not blown gasket just a leak. I believe the material seperates. Do some searching on the Lightning forums and I am sure you can find info. I know one locally that is getting fixed for that issue now.

 

aft area of the passenger head leak, "live with it" Its not enough for an oil fire ....but it will coat the bottom of the truck with oil and or get on the exhaust manifold and smoke.
Or pull the head and replace the gasket.

 

yelp i bet its a head gasket mine had a leak and was covered under warranty
dealer pulled the whole motor to change the gasket.

 

Mine leaked back there after I switched to Mobile 1 full synethic, so I switched back to the motorcraft synethic blend and the leak stopped....
