Found a dealer nearby with a 2000 Lightning with 31K. Priced at 17K which I'm sure i can haggle down a little. Going back and forth between 2007 Supercrew with 4x4 or this 2000 Lightning, Currently have 2003 F-150 supercab/flareside Fx4. Winter sucks, But that's why id buy a front wheel drive beater if i did this. Thoughts?? I'm sure my friends would think I'm weird buying a vehicle 3 years older. But damnit, It's a lightning so who gives a crap. Anything I should know about this year truck? Let me know Thx

 

it depend on what type on truck you need. I sold my 04 cause i needed something to haul 4 people and i miss my truck everyday. Just make sure the intercoller recall have been made and the sparkplugs have a tendency to shoot out from the heads due to enough threads.

 

Love my 2000 L. Never been to dealer other than for the intercooler recall. Terrific truck, looks fast, is fast. Do the basic mods: chip, filter, pulley and it is 12 sec capable.

 

Everyone knows 2000 L's are faster and superior in all ways......not that I'm biased or anything! I love my 2000 and will never ever sell it!

 

love my 00. plus if you have big plans on modding you will replace all the parts that were improved on the 01+ models. make sure the intercooler has been replaced.

since i have had my truck i have replaced the maf, suspension, grilles, wheels, rearend gears, etc.
