Post Where to get wheel locks?

I just got my '01 last week and I'm still waiting for the dealer to get the wheel locks in. Is there any place other than the dealer to get the correct locks. I called McGuard and they will only sell to the dealer.

Don't know what you're whinin' about. Ordered my wheel locks from my dealer in March ('00, that is), got 'em practically overnight, in October.

Didn't know I was whining, thought I was asking a question. But then I'm new here.

using the "search" button up top, i found a veritable plethora of posts on wheel locks...

here's my post on them.. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/008910.html

for a full (20 piece) set, check www.gorilla-auto.com and download their catalog in pdf format. in there you will find the part number and maybe ordering info.

I don't know about having the correct size, but Pep Boys has the McGuard wheel locks. I couldn't remember what size I needed so I didn't look too close at them but the one I was at had a lot of different sizes.

Later,
Roger

C'mon people! You can get wheel locks from just abour ANY auto parts store and you can get them from just about ANY shop that sells wheels and or tires. It really should'nt be such a chore. Sorry about being so frank about it but its like asking where to buy oil from.

Steve

The trouble is that NO parts store sells 14mm locking lug nuts with the washers needed to protect and secure the alloy rims. The Ford Part Number is YL3Z-1A043-BA
They are made by McGard but just like the sparkplugs for the Lightning are ONLY available thru dealer channels. In the future please do a little research before posting in such a condescending manner.

Thanks in advance
Doug

For those that are interested in part number for Gorilla locks,Call 1-800-262-6267 and ask for Kay. The part number for the 2000 14mm studs is 76603F. That is for a 20 piece set with lugs, washers, and 1 lock key. The set is a duplex acorn nut and is 59.95 plus shipping and handling. They are kind of slow there so just be persistant. They have to make these sets up because it is not a common size. Let me know if anybody needs more info.

You don't want Gorilla locks or lugs, they are of low quality and will rust and or flake in a year or two. Get the ones from the dealer, they are made by McGuard and are of superior quality! The keys are also much better. I had the gorilla lugs/locks on my car, the lugs rusted and the keys felt like they were going to strip the locks.

I don't know why it would take so long from the dealer, I ordered a set and got them in a day (I have the 12mm size and they sent the 14mm in a day, they sent them back and got me the 12mm the next day)

Sorry, RJ, bggroth is right, that was meant to be a little jokie.

Oh, and I downloaded the Gorilla catalog, but couldn't find any info specific to the Lightning. I have tried to order Gorilla locks for my truck, and have spoken to them on the phone, but the part # they give me is for the lock set that fits the 12mm studs on the '99 L's. I do not believe that Gorilla makes a set that fits the 14mm studs on the '00 and '01 L's. If this is incorrect, and somebody has actually managed to obtain a set of Gorilla locks for their '00's I wish they would post the correct p/n, as I would like a full set, too.

I have had my Gorilla locks for about a year and have seen no problem with them. Of course if you hammer on them they will get tore up.You must take them off by hand and not let cooter at the local tire store spin them up with his fancy doo-hickey gun. I have had my wheels off 6 or 7 times and they seem to look o.k.I do not want a diffrent lug from the others, looks out of place.
