Question Mike Troyer- SuperChip Question Or Anyone With Chip Problem!

I have recently purchased a SuperChips R9 flip-chip for my 99L and at the track today running the chip the whole way down the track I had 0 psi boost. Thought it was something I might have done so I ran it again and no boost again. Took out the chip and it ran 10 psi for the remaining 5 runs. Do you have any clue what this could be from? My truck was produced in 5-99 and has had a chip in it before and seemed fine. However, even the superchip seems ok in daily driving although from everyone I have talked to they noticed a night and day difference from stock , whereas I did not. I know that it says no start up with the earlier computers, but I had that too and I just removed the chip and installed it and it started right up. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Justin

Did you hit the rev limiter at the track? When ever you hit the rev limiter you dump boost automatically. I have had that happen to me few times when launching I got massive wheelspin at hit the factory limiter and lost boost..

I first discovered this same phenomenon when I had the R9 in also. I was very lucky because someone posted in this forum the same day to remove the solenoid boost cable from the SC to eliminate this cutoff effect.

I never plugged it back in for daily driving, but I don’t know if the author intended to convey this practice.

Cool

Read Spiro's post here to find out how/what to unplug. http://www.powersurgeperformance.net...ML/000001.html

Mine's unplugged most of the time 'cuz I usually forget to plug it back in.

Too much power braking in the burnout area will cost you boost the next time you hit the gas. Unplug the boost Control valve and givem' heck.

All I know is that I hit 6 psi in first gear, MAX. In second, I hit 10 psi all day long. That my story and I am sticking to it. That why I embarass C5s. My traction control is in the bed...

I had the same problem. disconnecting the boost solenoid will solve it at the track. Also, I learned by watching the boost gauge during the burnout, if it loses boost, shut the truck off for a second restart & stage then boost returns!
