Simple Question
Does anyone think that the L will be a collectors item in years to come? With the limited #'s it seems it would hold pretty good value if kept in great condition. Just wondering,Will
simple answer....
In my opinion no. With the rise in production numbers in 2001, and the word spreading about the faulty intercoolers of the 99's and 00's, this will drastically drop the price. Also with Fords grand idea of putting the Lightning engine in the HD Supercrew, it will then too drop the price. As I said in another post, I don't feel so damn "Special" anymore.

The Lightning is probably going to suffer the same fate as the Mustang SVO.
The SVO was a neat car in it's day. However they always seemed to have something going wrong with them. The early models(84-85) ended up being turds compared to the (85.5-86) models. However all years are still a nightmare to maintain.
People bought these cars thinking they would be collectable and valuable in years to come. You can still easily find a mint condition one with low low low low miles for alot less than the car cost new.
So...... my advice is ... DRIVE IT NOW, HAVE FUN WITH IT NOW. The trucks heyday is NOW. Don't store it in your garage thinking it's gonna become valuable and collectable. You will probably be six feet under before the truck is "collectable" .. and if your six feet under, why would you care if it is valuable and collectable anyway ?
